Choose Life
Jesus Christ said the world
would hate Christians, why am I always surprised?
by Jen Schroder
"But beware of men, for they will deliver you
up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues. You will be
brought before governors and kings for My sake."
"If the world hates you, you know that it
hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world
would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world..."
As God's child I repeat what my Father says.
Do not murder. The abortionists hate me. Do not teach my child about
other people and their gods. School officials hate me. Do not teach
my child homosexuality. The world hates me and calls me intolerant.
I politely asked a librarian about the books
in their children's section. She easily agreed with me that the material
was corrupt, but looked astonished at the thought of removing them.
She said that children had to know what was in the world. (pause)
So... we pollute our children so they can fit in with the pollution
of the world? She was astounded at my reasoning, I was astounded at
hers.
Franklin Graham wrote: "The Name of Jesus
Christ is a lightning rod because Jesus Christ represents the
division of life between good and evil, God and Satan, light and
darkness, righteousness and sin, heaven and hell. The Name of Jesus
shouts out a choice: "Whom will you serve?"
Jesus is gentle, but He is not weak. He loves
the sinner but is absolutely intolerant of sin. He is not a
negotiator. He is Lord.
It is this bristling truth that invites
intolerance toward Christians."
"If they persecuted Me, they will also
persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But
all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because
they do not know Him who sent Me." - Jesus
Christian, we are here to suffer. What God has
prepared for us in heaven cannot compare to the tribulation we face
on this planet. We are here to be hated. But we are here for a
purpose, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. It's not
about us, what God is preparing for us in heaven is more than I
could ever deserve. But for now, it's not about us. It's all for
those who don't know Him that God gave His only begotten Son, that
whosoever will believe shall have everlasting life.
Why would anyone want Jesus? Why would anyone
want to join us to suffer?
Because His Words of Life are true. Because God first loved us.
Because there is no greater love than this, that Jesus died for you.
If you don't know Him, come just as you are.
As you grow in Him, the desires and lusts you thought were so
important, will fade away. Come just as you are.
Choose life.
