Our Loving Jesus
When I first came on AOL back in March of 1997, I met some who had screen
names that were inappropriate for those who confessed JESUS as their LORD
and SAVIOR and so I reread the gospels looking at HOW JESUS dealt with
people and I was AMAZED how OFFENSIVE HE was! I noticed how most churches
and Christians truly fail to share Jesus like HE did! For example, Jesus
started His ministry NOT with, "God loves you..." but with REPENT! And
REPENT is OFFENSIVE but because it is a WORD on paper we just don't see
it. Then early in His ministry in Luke 4:23-27, He just finished reading
Isaiah 61:1-4 and sat down and went on to OFFEND those in the audience to
the POINT that they tried to KILL HIM! Then in John 2:12-17, He overturned
the tables in the synagogue! I know "churches" that need to be cleaned out
but IF I or you were to do such things we would end up in jail and fined
greatly! In Mark 3:5, it says, "Jesus looked around in anger...." JESUS?
ANGRY? NO WAY! Not my Jesus! Right, NOT YOUR JESUS because YOUR JESUS is a
figment of your imagination! NOT the JESUS of the BIBLE! In John 5:14, He
tells a man, "quit sinning or something worse may happen to you." WOW!
Many KNOW the story of the woman caught in adultery so I won't talk about
that here but HOW MANY know this verse? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... Then in
Matthew 11:20, Jesus says, "WOE TO YOU BETHSAIDA! WOE TO YOU KORAZIN!"
Here JESUS expresses RIGHTEOUS ANGER but how many know this verse? I have
heard many times from those who teach on healing that, "Jesus is the same,
yesterday, and forever...." Okay, I agree so I BELIEVE that JESUS still
gets ANGRY this way with ME! And US!! In Matthew 16:23, Jesus says to
Peter, "Get thee behind me, Satan!" WOW! Who was Peter? Peter was the ONE
who just told JESUS and the other disciples that, "YOU are the CHRIST, the
SON of the LIVING GOD!" We too can go from walking in the SPIRIT to doing
the devils work! GOD, HAVE MERCY! Then in Matthew 12:34, Jesus says, "You
SNAKES...." In Matthew 7:5, "Jesus calls us, 'Hypocrites.'" In Matthew
7:11, He says, "Thou you are EVIL...." Can you see that Jesus was a name
caller? And the thing is we ALL have been snakes, hypocrites, evil, BUT
for those who SEE, understand WHY JESUS came and did the WORK of the
FATHER. To REDEEM SINNERS LIKE US! PRAISE GOD FOR YOUR SALVATION! The
blind, deaf, and spiritually dead cannot see their sinfulness and
wickedness but THOSE who BELONG to GOD can and do because HE made it
possible for us to! In Luke 11:29, Jesus says, "This is an EVIL
generation...." Think about that. Meditate on it. IF JESUS said that
generation was evil, HOW MUCH MORE ARE WE? GOD, HAVE MERCY! And a few
verses later Jesus is invited by a Pharisee, which we ALL are at times, to
dinner and how did JESUS respond? Of course, He turned to the man and
said, "I think you are coming to believe I am who I say I am." NOT! JESUS
goes to the man's house and OFFENDS them with the SEVEN WOES! Then in Luke
12:51, Jesus tells us, "I did not come to bring peace on earth but
division." These are but a few verses that I know of where Jesus showed
"HIS LOVE" but the point of this paper is that WE, YOU AND I, are called
to follow JESUS in ALL things. So let us learn from the MASTER and be LEAD
of the SPIRIT. AMEN and amen....

Do we have the authority to
judge the evil and react? Hear how Paul dealt with a similar issue:
"...Sergius Paulus, an
intelligent man. This man called for Barnabas and Saul and sought
to hear the word of God. But Elymas the sorcerer (for so his name
is translated) withstood them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from
the faith. Then Paul, filled with the
Holy Spirit, looked intently at him and said, "O full of all deceit and
all fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will
you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord? And now,
indeed, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not
seeing the sun for a time." And immediately a dark mist fell on
him, and he went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand.
Then the proconsul believed, when he saw what had been done, being
astonished at the teaching of the Lord." (Acts 13:7)
Sergius Paulus was an "intelligent man" and Paul,
led by the
Holy Spirit, brought down the man that was trying to turn him away from
the faith. How much more is God angered that our nation pays
teachers to turn little children away from the faith? Jesus said,
"But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble,
it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and
he were thrown into the sea." (Mk 9:42) God said, "You shall
not go after other gods, the gods of the peoples who are all around you,
for the Lord your God is a jealous God among you, lest the anger of the
Lord your God be aroused against you and destroy you from the face of the
earth." (Deut 6:14)
