Plea to all Parents See also John Walker Lindh It has been confirmed that at request of the teacher, 4 to 5 seventh grade students actually got on their hands and knees and prayed to Allah. I have been asked to try to find out who those boys were and notify their parents. Forgive me, I don’t have the heart to do that again. Do you have any idea how hard it is to say to a woman, “Hi, you don’t know me and I don’t know how you feel about this, but other students are reporting that your son got on his hands and knees and prayed to Allah.” I have done this once, and I can’t do it again, no matter how gently I try to put the words. It’s too painful. And yet, if it were my child, I would certainly want to know! And what is worse, asking a child to do that or notify the parent in an effort to have this practice stopped? But I just can’t bring myself to do it. Instead, I’m pleading all parents to talk to their children. The one woman I did notify desires to remain anonymous and I totally respect her wishes. Her child is NOT at fault here, none of the boys who prayed are. They are children, and we have told our children to respect and obey their teachers. I am not on a witch-hunt. I don’t want to destroy anyone’s career. I don’t want to cost the school district thousands of dollars to replace expensive textbooks. That would be like taking food off the tables of our children. The problem is, I’ve looked closely at what our kids are being fed and it is full of poison. There are flat out lies in that book, along with obvious efforts to lead children to embrace Islam and reject Christianity. (Please see 10-page review under “What’s wrong with Across the Centuries”) What truly concerns me is that California is standing behind this book. What is up with that? Who is running the State? The assistant superintendent told me that asking a child to “imagine being a Muslim soldier and write about it” does not lead a child in that direction, nor would imagining being a Muslim on a Mecca pilgrimage (act of worship) etc. This shocks me. Ask any advertising agency what the power of suggestion can do! Billions are spent on advertising. Wouldn’t manufacturers just love it if nationwide the public schools asked children to imagine using their product and write good things about it? These are IMPRESSIONABLE children! For school educators to suddenly throw up their hands and claim ignorance to how they effect children… what if for “tolerance” reasons we asked our children to “imagine” shooting up heroin so we can develop compassion for the heroin addict? Do you think it’s unfair to compare heroin to Islam? Read the Quran. It actually tells Muslims to come in peace and to later crush the infidels (anyone who rejects Allah) with no mercy. People claim it’s a peaceful religion. I’m sure many nice Muslims believe that, but they are not reading their Quran or watching what happens as Islam gains the majority in a nation. Once that majority is reached, we have a new Afghanistan under Taliban rule. Muslims will claim they worship the same God as Christians and Jews, yet the Quran tells them to kill us. Allah the same God??? Allah is full of hate and instructs deception to promote Islam. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob says to love our enemies. The character of God and Allah are directly opposite. God also says He is a jealous God and to inquire not of other nations how they serve their gods. Oh that John Walker had obeyed that command! Do we assume our kids would think to mention, “praying to Allah” to us? I had a camera crew at my house when a friend came over and asked what was going on. When I told him, he said, “Oh yeah, they asked me to pray to Allah at school and I said no so they got other kids to do it.” At first I wondered if he was exaggerating because of the media, so I called a very reliable student of the same class and asked him non-chalantly. He said, “Oh sure, _________ prayed and so did about four other kids.” He knew a second student by name, but that child is in foster care and said to now be in Juvenile Hall. Who will look out for his rights? The State that approves this book? Why do Christians object to praying to Allah? People have accused me of being insecure that my son could be swayed, that our faith is so weak that I leap at the thought of anything else suggested. Nothing could be further from the truth. As Christians, we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, God sees us as holy and pure because of what Jesus did. We are not perfect, we are a work in progress striving to obey the Father out of gratitude and love, not fear from hell as this textbook claims. Our bodies have become His holy temple. God sees us as pure and holy. To ask my son’s holy temple of God to assume the Muslim position of prayer to Allah and pray, voice or memorize words of praise to Allah, or research and build a mosque of worship to Allah is an abomination. It’s beyond words. To mandate he read this biased pro-Islam, anti-Christian textbook is completely unacceptable. I am pleading that parents object to this practice of promoting Islam to our school boards.  FIND OUT who is running for school board and their view of this issue and many more, like having Christian literature in school libraries.  VOTE CHRISTIAN!  Even if you're not Christian, surely you don't want your children to grow up to be homosexual muslims!  That's a punishment by death in Islam!. Opting out is a bad bandaid.  Even if you don't have kids in public school, stand up for God's kids!  The kids left behind are left with lies about Christianity. Christian kids feel stigmatized and some would rather stay and learn the lies. Do you remember being age 12? Remember how much you wanted to “fit in?” It’s a tender age! Please. Do NOT vote for Davis, Feinstein, Boxer or Eastin, our representatives do nothing.  In fact, Davis is putting together task groups to promote homosexual "tolerance."  There are PLENTY of ways to promote tolerance without promoting a gay lifestyle!  Send a message to the State and write!   Protect our kids. Protect our religious freedoms. Protect our nation. -JenT
