ADDENDUM B Surgically matching what agrees with Islam Abraham (pg 299) Text/Bible quote: “God created the heavens and earth.” (Gen) Quran quote: “He it is Who has created the heavens and earth” (6:73) “But God became upset with humankind and finally decided to create a new nation within the human family. God commanded a shepherd named Abraham… (Genesis doesn’t state what Abraham did before being called from Ur, but the Quran has some very bizarre stories about that time.) Then we get another Bible Quote: Textbook/Bible quote: “Go forth from your native land and from your father’s house to the land that I will show you. I will make of you a great nation.” (Gen 12:1-2) The Quran says, “And remember that Abraham was tried by his Lord with certain commands, which he fulfilled: He said: "I will make thee an Imam to the Nations” (2:124) From there the Quran takes a sharp left and some extremely different versions take place. It couldn’t possibly continue and be the same story. Samples of Quran’s versions This is only a fraction, stories are extremely different, and it would take a book. 41:9-10,12 Creation: Islam says Allah created everything in 8 days, Bible says 6 and rested the 7th. 2:31-37 Adam and Eve Islam believes Allah told Adam to tell the angels the names of the animals and then give tell them their natures. Allah had the angels bow down to Adam and satan was the only “angel” that would not. 27:4-6, 28:38, 29:39 Tower of Babel Different Bible names that lived hundreds of years apart and in different places are listed as working on the Tower of Babel. 11:32-48; 11:44 Noah and the ark. Islam says one of Noah’s sons stayed behind, Bible says the whole family went; Islam says the ark landed on a different mountain than the Bible. Also states that the flood happened at the same time as Moses. The Quran has a lot of confusion with names, dates and places. 37:100-112 Isaac and Ishmael Islam says it was Ishmael that was offered as a sacrifice and then Isaac was born later. Bible states Isaac was offered on the alter. 6:47, 14:37, 21:68-69, 9:69 Abraham Quran and Bible disagree on the name of Abraham’s father. Quran states Abraham was thrown into a fire by Nimrod (who lived hundreds of years previously). Many Biblical names listed as living in the same time frame of Abraham which the Bible does not back up. States Abraham became Christian. 12:21 etc. Joseph Quran states the brothers plotted to kill Joseph and begged their father to let him come with them. No coat of many colors but a mere shirt. Was found in the well by a caravan. A wife tried to seduce him but Joseph’s innocence was believed from the start. Oh it’s bizarre, you have to read it yourself. 19:28 Miriam is confused with Mary. Muhammad actually believed Moses sister Miriam was the mother of Jesus 28:8-9, 7:136, 7:59, 2:87 Moses Quran states he was picked out of the water by Pharaoh’s wife, not his daughter as the Bible states. Quran states Moses traveled in darkness, nothing about following the pillar by night and a cloud by day. Quran says the flood took place in Moses’ day. The Golden Calf is suggested by the Good Samaritan. (there were no people or nation of Samaria yet) Jesus was at the same time and Moses’ sister Marian/Mary was Jesus’ mother. 2:249-250 Gideon According to the Quran, the test of which soldiers should go to battle by how they drank from a stream didn’t happen in Gideon’s time but rather happened with who would fight Goliath. |
